Can you spot the difference when you see damage on a trout?

The first two pictures show Pike damage and the size! Mouth and teeth marks.

The third picture shows Cormorant damage – stab and slash

Don’t forget to record Cormorant damage on the board in the signing in hut.

Derek had 3 hours yesterday afternoon on our lake, weather was wicked and casting difficult but with some perseverance and exceptional good luck, he had 2 takes, first fish around 2lb leap out of the water and threw the hook, that’s him thinking it’s going to be another blank, however, after a further 40 mins, he hooked another fish and this time the hook held, to his astonishment he landed a PB, 6 lb 4oz rainbow. His first trout in over 5 years, on his 2nd trip to the lake.

Tom Pearson’s widow kindly gave the Club all Tom’s fly tying materials, hooks and flies.

We have managed to sell these and raised over £700. With the agreement of Mrs Pearson we are using the money to tag one large fish each year.
